Boogie Cousins Scores 55, Is Ejected And Un-Ejected, Wins Game

Shot of the Game: Cousins is clutch with 3-pointer late Nobody has had a day quite like DeMarcus Cousins did Tuesday. Near the end of the game, Cousins got ejected after barking at the Trail Blazers bench and his mouthpiece coming out — one referee thought he spit it at the Blazers bench and gave him a technical, Cousins’ second.

Every time this prodigy dominates on the court, the Sacramento Kings icon shows a behavior not mature for a grown up, and it would never pass for someone less talented, for sure. We all seem to enjoy his missteps, because it is not easy to justify love in his case.

But his good moments really balance all the weirdness and worst moments, right? Tuesday game against the Portland Trail Blazers was a night where the whole team made it happen.

In his first game after hardly avoiding suspension for chewing out a Sacramento Bee columnist, he dominated the court and gave the performance of his career. He reached 55 points, which is the second-highest total in the league so far, and it made him the first player in the team’s history to score 55 twice in the team.
