Raiders Clinch First Playoff Spot In 14 Years
Oakland Raiders fans react after an NFL football game against the San Diego Chargers Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, in San Diego. KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Ryan Succop kicked a 53-yard field goal into the wind as time expired Sunday to give the Tennessee Titans a 19-17 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on a frigid afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium.
It is an end of a painful era for the Raiders fans. They had a hard century, really. Well, no longer. Oakland managed to seal their first playoff berth since 2002. The remaining games are against the colts and Broncos, and they only need to hold in there.
Qualcomm Stadium was all silver and black from the costumes of Oakland Raiders fans, who survived the night with 19-16 against the San Diego Chargers. The stadium was packed, all the tickets sold out, it was a magnificent victory and it also marks the milestone.
They played the last postseason game there – Super Bowl XXXVII.
Coach Jack Del Rio said of the occasion, "Proud of that. But we have designs on more."
Well, this century wasn’t really mild to them, so – best of luck!
