Rio Police Officially Charge Ryan Lochte For False Robbery Report
U.S. swimmer Ryan Lochte was officially charged by Brazilian authorities on Thursday for falsifying reports of a robbery at gunpoint at a gas station in Rio. In actuality, Lochte and three fellow Team USA swimmers had vandalized a bathroom at the station and were being asked to pay for the damages. If Lochte is convicted he could face up to 18 months in prison. Lochte has already returned home to the United States, but even if he doesn't appear in Brazilian court he could be tried in absentia.
