ESPN's Michael Wilbon Says NFL Refs Should Be Suspended Over Cam Newton Hit
Michael Wilbon is not happy with the NFL refs who worked Monday Night Football this week. The Carolina Panthers played the Washington Redskins, and in the game Panthers' quarterback Cam Newton took a hit to the head while he was attempting to slide. The refs threw a flag, but Newton threw the football in the direction of the player who hit him. Instead of calling a personal foul for roughing Newton, the refs penalized the quarterback for taunting. The "Pardon the Interruption" cohost took to Twitter with his thoughts, saying the NFL officiating crew should be suspended rest of season for the call. He also tweeted he thought Cam Newton did not get calls like the Golden Boy QBs in the league do. ESPN has not commented on Wilbon's remarks.
