Travis Kelce Throws Towel At Ref For No Call
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce did not like the missed call during his game against the Jaguars. He let the ref know about it, who did not appreciate Kelce's lip and flagged him.
What goes around comes around. This is what happens when you don’t respect the refs, or want to penalize the penalizers. Kelce thought it would be a good idea to give the refs the taste of their own medicine. However, the NFL really does not recognize a player’s towel as an indicator of punishment.
Instead, you get a second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and an automatic ejection. It pushed them out of field goal range, but didn’t hurt them in their 19-14 victory over Jacksonville.
Kelce, who probably learned the lesson from Andy Reid, head coach, “As soon as the ref took off his hat, I knew I was out. Felt like an idiot. It was a terrible decision, but just have to learn from it and keep going.”
