NFL Threatens Antonio Brown Over These Cleats
Antonio Brown is the latest victim of the NFL, the No Fun League. The Pittsburgh Steelers wide out was threatened with benching if he did not change his cleats at halftime. The cleats he was wearing were in honor of Muhammad Ali, and they were even Steelers' colors. Goodell and his henchmen struck again, though.
Antonio Brown wanted to pay tribute to Muhammad Ali, and he was probably willing to pay up in order to showcase his admiration.
But the NFL, had a different punishment in mind.
CBS Sports reporter Evan Washburn said during the broadcast of Steelers-Jets game that the league threatened to eject Brown from the game unless he removed the cleats bearing Ali's likeness.
The cleats in question, coupled with the Steelers' striped uniforms, bore both the butterfly and the bee of Ali's most famous quote.
